apaull newsletter — Altamont Joy including Ross Harper remix out on 6 November

1 November 2026
Hello All:
Welcome to my newsletter!
October was a great month because it is Amsterdam Dance Event month. To be honest this is like Christmas for electronic producers and performers. It is an incredibly fluid event where you can plan but best be open for who might be around the corner of the streets of Amsterdam. My goal was to secure more bookings to play out live. I’m not sure of my progress. One interesting thing that did happen a few times was people coming up to me and saying “Are you apaull? I listen to your music”. That was super gratifying. You can see some vlog posts on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/apaull_music/

Also in October, I was also lucky enough to have Mike Watt (fireHose, Minutemen, Iggy and the Stooges) play both Veilig and True Though on various episodoes of the long running Watt from Pedro podcasts. https://www.twfps.com
“Altamont Joy”, my new single from the Gunfactor album on furnace room records, is released on 6 November 2026. The package includes the original mix and a remix by Ross Harper. I’d really appreciate if you would consider pre-saving it: https://FurnaceRoomRecords.lnk.to/AltamontJoy

My third album Gunfactor came out on 24 April 2026, on my furnace room records label. The ten-track album explores the pathways to fame and infamy — how exceptional talent, good fortune and, sometimes, darker events can push someone into the public eye.
“Altamont Joy” is a sludgy dirge that crawls along, looking for its destination. A tactile 303 flicker, tight hi-hats and unexpectedly bright melodies break through the heaviness. When you finally get your break: “You’re gonna look real crazy, being on the other side of that line.”
Brighton’s Ross Harper is a DJ and producer whose music spans techno, house and downtempo. Rooted in London’s 1990s club and rave culture, he founded City Wall Records in 2008. His catalogue includes The Dark Album and the Ambient Girl series. For “Altamont Joy”, he speeds up the track and strips it down into a sleek, club-ready offering. I have had lots of good fun with Ross over the years including playing in Amsterdam, Brighton and London, UK.
