New single "Cartel" drops on 7 August 2026

Welcome to my newsletter! July was a great month. Highlights included being invited to Madonna’s Confessions 2 invite only pop-up show, in New York, by my friend (and one of the opening acts) Junior Sanchez. I also helped arrange and provided support for techno icon Christian Smith when he played at London’s Rum Runners.

My third album Gunfactor came out on 24 April 2026, on my furnace room records label. The title is a play on words. In Dutch, it loosely means “it factor”, or that something that pushes you over the edge to “make it”. The English meaning lands instantly.

“Cartel” pivots into driving low‑end swing and biting comb‑filtered leads. The topic: pure (inverse) moral relativism. It asks the question: Are globalist organizations like the World Economic Forum any more trustworthy than drug cartels? I know this has a ‘conspiracy theory’ air to it, but the point of the track is government left unchecked does have a tendency to become too much of itself.

For over a decade, Pascal Hetzel has been a steady presence in Berlin's large electronic music community. He developed a knack for long free flowing hardware jam sessions, that traversed the whole spectrum of electronic dance music from dark, industrial tinged techno to classic motor city electro and italo disco appreciating euphoria. His sound is deeply influenced by Detroit techno’s rich legacy. His first release on Juan Atkins’ groundbreaking Metroplex label (June 2025), marked another milestone in his career. He has had recent releases on Eye Teeth and Arkham Audio labels.
